The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
Another story told in the magnificent world of Middle-Earth is always welcomed.
It's fair to say the teaser delivers a spectacular depiction of Mordor, especially the shot of Mount Doom at the end.
In an interview with IGN, Martin Wilkes, the game's lead game designer revealed some details about the upcoming title.
"The game mixes stealth with vertical climbing parkour... If you want a reference you might think of it as similar to Prince of Persia".
This is certainly an exciting concept and fits Gollum's character as seen in the books.
The game is not combat-focused, players will be able to utilise combat at points but it is a high-risk option.
As well as this, the narrative design of the game incorporates both Smeagol and Gollum.
Depending on which persona is present, this can influence animations, soundscapes, mechanics and in-game dialogue.
Despite this, Daedalic has confirmed the narrative will follow that of the books and therefore Gollum's fate remains sealed.
Let's hope Daedalic can do Gollum's story justice and deliver a unique view of Middle-Earth.
