The Version 2.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is here! Needless to say, it's given the game a new lease of life and the range of activities for players to take part in has grown even longer. One of the most exciting additions is that of the Pro Camera App, allowing players to share pictures of their islands in a whole new way now.
In this guide, we've explained how to upgrade your Camera App to the Pro Camera App, and how to use its new features.

How to Get the Pro Camera App
Getting your hands on the Pro Camera App in Version 2.0 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is easy. All you need to do is make sure that you have some Nook Miles to spare in advance! To purchase the app, go to the Nook Stop Terminal in the Resident Services building and select 'Redeem Nook Miles'. From this menu, you will be able to purchase and immediately install the Pro Camera App for 1500 Nook Miles.
Tripod versus Handheld Camera
Tripod Camera
The Tripod Camera is the style of camera that you'll already be familiar with if you aren't new to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This allows you to essentially stand your camera on a tripod, and take screenshots of your character amongst your island, alongside your villagers, while carrying out various actions. There are frames and lenses you can add to images too to ensure you get the perfect shot!
Handheld Camera
The Handheld Camera is new to the Pro Camera App. Instead of your character taking centre stage, they now get to stay behind the camera instead. This camera allows you to capture new angles and interact with your villagers in a new way. By using Reactions, the villagers you're photographing will act out that Reaction on camera for you. Alternatively, this can be used to take scenic shots around your island without your character being in them.
Also, the Pro Camera App introduces more new filters and frames, including that of the Fish Eye Lens. The Fish Eye Lens could be for better or for worse... as demonstrated below with the questionable photo we managed to snap using the Handheld Camera, featuring the beloved red hamster, Apple:
As you can see, there is plenty of fun to be had with the new additions to the Pro Camera App. You now have the opportunity to get even more creative with your photos, and if you're camera shy, the Handheld Camera fixes that issue!
