How To Get Two-Story Homes

To unlock the ability to add a second floor to vacation homes, you will need to complete 18 vacation homes and have completed all of the facilities up to that point. If you haven't completed the facilities, then you may not unlock this feature even if you complete 18 homes. You need to complete the facilities.

Once you have done this, you will then be able to add a second story to existing vacation homes if you revisit your clients and you can choose to build a two-story home for new clients.

What Is a Two-Story Home?

A two-story home is a house that has a second floor (an upstairs room). Often, having a second room upstairs is a great way of expanding the space on offer and you can spend more time on the design for that client. A second room can be expanded, decorated, and designed in exactly the same way as the one on the ground floor.

How To Build Two-Story Homes

There are two ways you can choose to build two-story homes.

1. Creating a Two-Story Home for a New Client

When you sit down with a new client outside the Paradise Planning office, after the client tells you the vision for their dream home, you will be able to choose for them if they have a one or two-story home. If you decide to build them a two-story home then the second floor will automatically be added to the house when you get to the chosen location.

If you don't choose to add a second floor right away but you do eventually decide you want one then don't worry. All you need to do is speak to the client and click on the "let's add an upstairs" option to add a second floor.

2. Adding a Second Story for Existing Vacation Homes

If you want to add a second floor to existing vacation homes then you need to visit them. You can do this by speaking to Niko at the dock on the main paradise planning island or you can select the client's photo from the Happy Home Network app on your Nook Phone.

When you are at the home of your chosen client, you will need to speak to them. When you do, you need to click on the remodelling option. This should then give you the option to add an upstairs to the existing home.

Adding a second floor to a vacation home can be rewarding in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise, especially if you want to fit more furniture items into it.
