Season 2 for Black Ops Cold War is finally here, and you may be wondering how that affects Warzone.
Activision's popular Battle Royale title technically kicked off while Modern Warfare was the current entry, and so has a bizarre history of seasons.
Let's clear it up for you.
What Season Is Warzone In?
Warzone is currently in Season 2, although that doesn't quite tell the whole story.
You see, when Warzone launched in 2020, it did so in a sort of "Season Zero", during Modern Warfare's second season.
There were then a series of seasons tied to Modern Warfare's own content, which made sense because progression between the two games was tied.
With Black Ops Cold War arriving in November 2020, though, work began to merge all three games.
That led to Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War, kicking off in December 2020, which meant Warzone moved back to Season 1.
Following us so far?
So, with the latest season being Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War, it's all tied together.
It stands to reason that Season 3 of Black Ops will bring Season 3 of Warzone, and so on and so forth until Call of Duty 2021 takes things back to Season 1.
Speaking of which, here's all we know about this year's game.
