The excitement surrounding the launch of Modern Warfare 2 is beginning to build. Players have had their fun within Vanguard and are hoping Infinity Ward can revive the franchise once again.
Following the developer revealing the logo for the sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, attention is quickly turning to the possibility of seeing some kind of gameplay.
With rumours suggesting development is ahead of schedule, a notable Call of Duty leaker has shared information on Activision's gameplay reveal plans adding even more hype ahead of a return to a modern-day setting.
Modern Warfare 2 Reveal Date Leaked
In a report published by notable leaker Tom Henderson, the first Modern Warfare 2 reveal will take place on June 2. Like previous reveals, the first look at the game is expected to include short clips from the single-player campaign rumoured to involve Task Force 141 taking on a drug cartel.
The reveal date is corroborated by "TheGhostOfHope," another notable leaker with an impressive track record of correctly revealing information ahead of time.
Henderson goes on to share information on Infinity Ward's plans to showcase Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. Their sources point towards an August reveal date. It's unclear if the developer will utilise a Warzone event to showcase the game.
There's a lot riding on the success of Modern Warfare 2 following Vanguard's disappointing sales figures due to its World War 2 setting. 2019's Modern Warfare is the most successful title in the Call of Duty franchise and many are hoping Infinity Ward can deliver once again.
As always, take leaks with a pinch of salt but considering Henderson's impressive track record, there's a high chance of Modern Warfare 2 being shown at the start of June.
