Despite Call of Duty Vanguard's recent launch, several leaks and rumours surrounding the 2022 entry into the popular first-person shooter franchise have already surfaced, much to the curiosity of the community. If the rumours are anything to go by, Call of Duty 2022 will be Modern Warfare 2, a sequel to the 2019 reboot of the Modern Warfare series.
The title developed by Infinity Ward is rumoured to focus on Task Force 141 once again, as they do battle against a Columbian drug cartel intent on spreading mayhem across the globe. While nothing official on the game has been revealed, actor Warren Kole has seemingly confirmed his involvement in the project.

Warren Kole in Modern Warfare 2 (2022)
Known for his role as Rafe Adler, the villain in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Kole will have some kind of part to play in Modern Warfare 2, whether it's a campaign character or as an Operator for multiplayer. Rather than the news coming from a leak, the information appeared on the actor's Linkedin page which revealed that Kole has been working with Infinity Ward since October.
Modern Warfare 2 (2022) Release Date
It's highly unlikely that we will hear any kind of official information surrounding Modern Warfare 2 anytime soon but based on the usual release dates for the Call of Duty franchise, we can get an idea of when the game will be releasing. More often than not, the new game launches in Q4 and there's every chance Modern Warfare 2 will follow suit, releasing in early November.
