The AK-47 assault rifle is a staple of the Call of Duty franchise, and since the integration of Black Ops Cold War weaponry into Warzone, there are two iterations of the Russian rifle that can be used.
Whether it’s Black Ops Cold War’s or Modern Warfare’s AK-47, both weapons feature immensely high damage outputs alongside recoil levels that are often difficult to control.
In Season 2, there are numerous attachment combinations that lend to the strengths of each version of the AK.
But which of the two is better?

AK47 Cold War Best Attachments
- KGB Eliminator (Muzzle)
- 18.2" VDV Reinforced (Barrel)
- Spetsnaz Grip (Underbarrel)
- VDV 50 RND Fast Mag (Magazine)
- Gru Elastic Wrap (Handle)
This particular set of attachments reduces recoil to minimal levels alongside offering improvements to aim down sight time and flinch resistance, allowing you to maintain focus on the intended target.
While it is incredibly easy to use in mid-range combat, the compact iron sights can sometimes make it tricky to see the opponent in front of you.
To fix that, switch the KGB Eliminator muzzle for an optic of your choice.
AK47 Modern Warfare Best Attachments
- Monolithic Suppressor (Muzzle)
- 23.0" Romanian (Barrel)
- Tac Laser (Laser)
- Corp Combat Holo Sight (Optic)
- 40 Round Mags (Ammunition)
Just like the Black Ops Cold War AK, this attachment combination for Modern Warfare’s equivalent dominates in mid-range engagements.
The suppressor and barrel offer improvements in damage range, improving versatility while the inclusion of the Tac Laser enables you to take down a target in close proximity while firing from the hip.
With some additional bullets in the mag thanks to the 40-round magazine, it reduces the need to reload after every gunfight, allowing you to maintain a barrage of fire to eliminate any form of opposition standing in your way.

Which Is Better?
After plenty of time using both versions of the AK, both have their strengths and weaknesses.
Black Ops Cold War’s iteration of the rifle contains far superior mobility which makes it very easy to outmanoeuvre an opponent in a gunfight where as Modern Warfare’s AK is much more static, making it tricky to utilise movement to your advantage.
Thanks to its mobility, I think that Black Ops Cold War’s AK-47 is the stronger weapon out of the two, but both are very evenly matched in a number of areas.
