Although the focus of Call of Duty fans is on Season 3 of Vanguard and Warzone, Treyarch continues to supply Black Ops Cold War players with brand-new content ahead of the Operation Monarch event taking place on Caldera. The latest update of 2022 sees the arrival of a new submachine gun (SMG) known as the UGR.
The SMG features a steady rate of fire alongside a "moderate bullet velocity," allowing players to make an impact in close-quarters and mid-range engagements. As with most new additions to the arsenal, players must complete a challenge in order to get their hands on this particular SMG.
While some unlock challenges are time-consuming, some are much easier to complete over the course of a match. With that said, find out how to unlock the UGR in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War in this guide containing all the intel.
How to Unlock UGR in Warzone
Players can obtain the SMG by killing enemies revealed by your own UAV or a Field Mic in 15 different completed matches. Thankfully, you only need to score one elimination in each match.
We recommend dropping into Plunder matches thanks to the huge amounts of cash you can use to purchase a UAV. Call it in as soon as you can and find the nearest opponent to eliminate with your preferred SMG of choice.
How to Unlock UGR in Black Ops Cold War
The challenge requirements are exactly the same in Black Ops Cold War multiplayer. In addition, players can obtain the UGR by completing a Zombies challenge. Simply eliminate 1k enemies while using an SMG with a rarity of Epic or higher.
If grinding through the challenges doesn't appeal, there's an even faster way of unlocking the UGR. The SMG is included in the new Lazar Operator bundle as a Legendary blueprint. Head to the store and purchase the bundle for 2400 COD Points.
The UGR is the third gun to arrive in Season 3 of Warzone. It joins the Nikita AVT assault rifle and the M1916 marksman rifle and is one of two SMGs arriving over the course of the season. In Season 3 Reloaded, the H4 Blixen is expected to arrive as the final gun of the season.
Is The UGR Good in Warzone?
After using it on Caldera and Rebirth Island, the UGR won't be appearing in the Season 3 meta anytime soon. Despite this, the SMG possesses a high damage output and low levels of recoil making it very easy to control.
As players uncover the best UGR Warzone loadout to use, there's every chance it can contend with the meta guns but for now, there are better options to use.
That's how to unlock the UGR in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. For more battle royale intel, check out our page for the latest news, leaks, and loadout guides.
