While professional Call of Duty players wait for the start of the 2022 Call of Duty League (CDL) season, OpTic Texas' Seth 'Scump' Abner showcased his skills in the North American Duos tournament as part of the World Series of Warzone.
Activision announced the “Solo YOLO” match a couple of months ago, with all 150 players diving into Verdansk for a chance at grabbing the coveted prize of $100,000. While the server was stacked with the likes of Aydan, HusKerrs, and MuTex, it was Scump who managed to beat them all to win the grand prize, much to his surprise.

Scump Wins Warzone Solo Yolo Match
After scoring the final kill of the match, the 26-year-old veteran was elated with his achievement, running around the room and sending his headset into orbit. Scump survived 149 other players and racked up a game-high 11 kills, finishing the game off by eliminating New York Subliners Warzone player Aydan.
With this win, the 2017 Call of Duty world champion has officially surpassed $1 million in career prize winnings. Scump is now the 6th player to do so, joining an elite group of players that have competed at a professional level.
Will There Be A Warzone League?
There's a possibility that Activision is developing a professional Warzone league, given that teams like OpTic Gaming and 100 Thieves are housing Warzone pros on their rosters. There were rumors that one such league debut for the 2021 CDL season, but nothing came to fruition. Could a Warzone league compete with the highest echelon of COD esports in the upcoming 2022 season? We'll have to wait and see what happens.
