With just under two weeks until the hotly-anticipated launch of Warzone Pacific and the start of Season 1 for Call of Duty Vanguard, publisher Activision has announced that the initial start date for the new season of post-launch content has been pushed back.
The new era for the wildly popular battle royale was set to launch on December 3rd with an all-new map set in the Pacific island of Caldera after transitioning from Verdansk, the home of Warzone for the past ten seasons. Reasons for the delay have not been specified, much to the confusion of the community that has been patiently waiting for new content to arrive in Vanguard and a new era of Warzone to get underway.

Vanguard & Warzone Season 1 Delay
The news was broken on November 19th by the official Call of Duty Twitter account which led to plenty of disappointment along with curiosity as to why the decision to delay had been made.
Some members of the community seem to think that the huge drop of content has yet to be finished, which would explain why there has been a minimal build-up to the largest change to Warzone since Black Ops Cold War was integrated back in Season 3. On the other hand, one Twitter user was quick to realise that the new release date coincides with the launch of the Halo Infinite campaign. Is the delay a clever marketing ploy by Activision?
Warzone Pacific & Vanguard Season 1 Start Date
As the Tweet above reveals, Season 1 of Warzone Pacific and Vanguard will now get underway on December 8th. Vanguard players will still receive 24 hours of early access to Caldera, which will commence on December 7th rather than the 2nd.
