Destiny 2 isn't foreign to collaborations but the new Magical Girl and Street Fighter sets might take more than a few Guardians by surprise.

Bungie just kicked off Episode: Revenant, the follow-up to Echoes which in turn was the companion Episode to The Final Shape, the DLC that put a stellar end to the Light and Darkness Saga, a story that the devs had been working on for over a decade.

Naturally, with a new update, dataminers got their hands on some upcoming content that was added to the game's files, discovering collaborations Capcom's Street Fighter and a Magical Girl set called Doki Doki.

Capcom is all about the crossover life now, with Street Fighter 6 getting SNK's Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui for season 2, sending over Ken Masters and Chun-Li in return, with both set to appear as guests in Fatal Fury 2: City of the Wolves.

The leaked content via JpDeathBlade includes three Ghost Shells inspired by Cammy, Ryu, and Chun-Li, three finishers using iconic special moves from the franchise: Hadoken, Lightning Kick, and Spinning Bird Kick. You'll also be able to obtain a Blanka mask for all classes and a unique title called World Warrior

Chun-Li and Cammy are coming to Destiny 2

Sadly for Street Fighter fans, there's no armor leaked and that could likely mean this collaboration won't feature any sets, which is a bit disappointing.

But that's far from it, as a new set titled Doki Doki was also uncovered. Now, don't go thinking Destiny 2 will be getting Natsuki or Monika armor. The title refers to a common sound symbolism used when depicting the beating of a heart in Japanese media, with the actual sets inspired more by the likes of Sailor Moon.

While you might think both collaborations are nonsensical, there's a perfectly good explanation for them to exist. Despite dwindling popularity, Destiny 2 is still somewhat popular in Japan. During its initial launch, the game topped the Japanese charts back in 2017 and has maintained a dedicated fanbase since then.

At the moment, Street Fighter 6 is booming, with the game not only selling extremely well for Capcom metrics but esports events making the franchise as popular as it used to be back in the Street Fighter II days, constantly selling out massive venues.

Time to transform!

Adding a Magical Girl-inspired armor set also appeals to said audience, but also anyone who is looking for more fun collaborations to level up their fashion game.
