A year since its launch in 2023, Starfield has finally released its most awaited Shattered Space DLC.

According to many fans, the DLC, complete with a new, handcrafted planet to explore and many challenging enemies, feels like Bethesda's greatest expansion yet.

Massive hits like the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim and Shivering Isles for Oblivion are some of the expansions that Starfield fans are comparing Shattered Space to.

Originally posted on Reddit by user u/JarusinTheStars, they shared that they are already six hours into the game, and the new city, Dazra, feels like the best city in the whole galaxy in Starfield.

While the Va'ruun's faction in the base game doesn't seem to elaborate more about the faction, the DLC did a great job portraying more details and information about Va'ruun.

Many players from the thread echoed their sentiments about the new DLC. A fellow Starfield fan shared that the moment they stepped on Dazra, they got paid 5,000 credits to see people dueling and getting stabbed to death, similar to the Skyrim scene when the Dragonborn first enters Markarth. Others pointed out that Dazra and its places of interest are best explored slowly, which felt like sci-fi Elder Scrolls.

Tim Lamb mentioned during Gamescom that Shattered Space will change the way players think about Starfield, and the community feedback proves this to be correct. Todd Howard said that future Starfield expansions will be released every year, with each revolving around hand-crafted locations that encourage more exploration while still elevating the Starfield space experience.

Shattered Space also made some fans realize that Bethesda should try to move away from common space themes and instead transition into space fantasy. Others even mentioned that the vortex enemies are more interesting than the usual enemies found in the base game.

While Bethesda is known for listening and communicating with its players, the community's initial positive reception of Shattered Space indicates that Starfield is slowly heading in the right direction.
