The imagination of Minecraft players knows no boundaries, and there's no better proof than the massive project undertaken by a Reddit user who is creating an entire fictional city and sharing his stunning progress on social media.

KanyeWaste69 took to the Gaming subreddit to share an incredible screenshot of Southside, Basin City, a fictional locale they are currently building in Minecraft.

While the image might evoke the feeling of becoming a master urban planner in Sim City, the entire project is an explorable location. KanyWaste69 states that the section in the picture took him 18 months to complete.

The entire project has taken Waste over 4.5 years and counting. What motivates Waste to complete this behemoth of a task? According to Waste, "Sometimes Adderall."

Waste also states that they currently work at Amazon and use his spare time to continue building the streets of Basin City, dedicating three to six hours two days a week to this side project.

There's also a Facebook page with over 3.8k followers in which Waste continuously updates fans, giving them a clearer look at multiple sections within Basin City.

Among the recent updates, one confirms that Waste will start working on the city's west side, with construction set to begin in January 2025.

There's even a YouTube video showcasing the scale of the city. It takes over 40 minutes to explore 10 kilometers of Basin City, a remarkable feat considering a lot of construction remains to be done.

As mentioned, Minecraft players and their imaginations know no boundaries, with plenty of crazy projects coming to life thanks to the versatile sandbox the game offers, including one where a player recreated the iconic Microsoft XP wallpaper.

We're sure that once the project is fully finished, whenever that ends up being, it'll become a viral sensation.
