The Shiba Inu team has called on the ShibArmy to provide name suggestions for locations on the SHIB Metaverse map.
In a Discord post on March 23, Discord moderator Trophias shared a post detailing the requirements for the names. He stated they must be original, related to the Shiba Inu ecosystem, and not offensive.
Here’s a look at some of the most popular ones so far.
Shiba Inu Metaverse Map Names
Posting in a new Community-Naming-Feedback channel, Trophias said:
We are looking for the best names from the community to provide the map with some long-lasting memories that will always remind us of the best the ecosystem has to offer, and create an even more immersive experience for the environment.
The categories on the metaverse map open to naming are: Roads, Avenues, Boulevards, and Hubs - including Parks and Plazas.
One of the most popular suggestions came from ShibInformer, who said: “There must be a ‘Central Bark’ park somewhere.”
Other suggestions that gained reactions from the community include: 1 Cent Boulevard, the Shiboshi Walk of Fame, Bone Boulevard, Penny Lane, Trifecta Avenue, ShyTown, and Wen Avenue.
Some of the more detailed proposals suggested the Metaverse should include areas named after team members.
“In real life, we sometimes name streets and boulevards after people who left their mark in our society, in our case, the ones who’ve left a positive mark in the ShibArmy community and ecosystem,” one user said. “I think it would be a good way to show how much our community is appreciated and rewarded for their involvement and support.
The user suggested this could include individuals such as Ryoshi, Shytoshi Kusama, and members of the Shiba development team. They also suggested the map could feature places named after those who have helped create projects related to the ecosystem. These could include John Richmond and William Volk - involved in the Shiba fashion line and the Shiba Inu Games, respectively.
The existence of a Shiba metaverse map was first confirmed on Discord by Shiba developer Eric M, known as Penny.
Name submissions remain open at the time of writing, with no fixed date currently given on when the deadline is. We’d predict this will close before the Shiba Land sale goes live.
