The Shiba Inu Lands sale for the metaverse has been pushed back from the planned weekend launch.
Citing a "little delay", Shiba Defence Breed member Trophias made the SHIB Metaverse announcement on the Discord server at 5:17 AM UTC on Monday.
Here's a closer look at the land sale delay.
Shiba Land Sale Delayed
The quick post in the Shiba Discord did not give the full reasons behind the delay. However, Trophias did state:
We are actively working to release this first stage as fast as we can.
Trophias also reassured those who had locked LEASH and Shiboshi NFTs that as the early access lasts 72 hours, there will be plenty of opportunities for these individuals to purchase land.
However, this may come as little benefit to those in the Shiba community waiting for the launch. After the Shiboshi NFTs sold out in 35 minutes, some SHIB users may be sat refreshing the website and Discord to be among the first to make their bids.
With no concrete date set for the delayed land sale, this waiting may have to go on slightly longer.
Others in the LEASH Discord channel, however, sympathised with the development team. "I rather would have a late launch than one with bugs," posted one Defence Breed member. Given the attention the Axie Infinity Ronin breach received ensuring there are no risks of such thefts is likely a priority for the team.
Planned to launch this weekend, this land sale was set to be the first stage in SHIB: The Metaverse
The SHIB team also said it would announce a AAA developer who would take control of the metaverse art direction. The team said this would happen last week, but has yet to reveal the studio involved.
While it may have been a muted day for the Shiba Metaverse, SHIB holders received an update on Shibarium. In a new blog post, developer Unification revealed the SHIB Layer-2 UI, alongside further information about its release schedule.
