EGX 2015 Champion of Champions Highlight
Last year, Gfinity showcased the world of eSports at EGX 2015, as the four reigning Gfinity and Counter Strike: Global Offensive Major Champions, Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team EnvyUs and Virtus.pro, descended upon the National Exhibition Centre for the Gfinity Champion of Champions event.
As we prepare for our second instalment of world class Counter Strike action at EGX, we can’t think of a better way for you to get hyped for the Gfinity CS:GO Invitational brought to you by Omen by HP, other than reliving the magic, drama and action from EGX 2015.
In true Gfinity fashion, the Champion of Champions event kicked off with two amazing best-of-five series’, as Fnatic faced off against their arch rivals, Ninjas in Pyjamas, while Virtus.pro took on Team EnvyUs.
After a dramatic back and forth series between the four teams, Fnatic and Team EnvyUs emerged victorious, as both teams secured narrow 3-2 victories over their respective opponents, setting up a grand final matchup between the Swedish all-stars and the Boys in Blue.
In true spectacular fashion, Team EnVyUs secured the Champion of Champions crown, as they defeated Fnatic 3-2 in the Grand Finals, a feat they had previously failed to accomplish, and cemented themselves as arguably the best team of 2015.
However, one question still remains… Will EnVyUs be able to reclaim their crown, as they return to EGX for the Gfinity CS:GO Invitational?
