FaZe Clan have officially announced their immediate acquisition of G2’s CS:GO Team.
The North American organisation are now the third Call of Duty originating brand to enter the CS:GO scene, following the footsteps of Team EnVyUs and the more recent OpTic Gaming.
The all-star line-up consisting of Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad, Håvard “rain” Nygaard, Ricardo “fox” Pacheco, Mikail “Maikelele” Bill, and Philip “aizy” Aistrup secured several notable placements while representing G2.Kinguin, finishing within the top three at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca and IEM San Jose, and will look to build upon these with their new journey under FaZe.
The new FaZe CS:GO team will travel to Germany today, as they prepare for their first tournament under their new organisation, Dreamhack Leipzig.
While G2.Kinguin do not have a replacement roster lined, they have stated;
“For the time being, G2.Kinguin will not have a Counter-Strike team. However, this does not mean that we will be taking a step back from the scene. We are putting our time and energy into finding a new top team that can live up to the expectations of our fans. Sooner or later our paths will cross again, you can be sure of that!”
