The CEVO Gfinity Counter Strike: Global Offensive Pro League Season 9 finals are fast approaching, as eight of the best North American and European teams prepare for battle at the UK’s finest dedicated eSports venue, the Gfinity Arena & Studios, from 28th April to 1st May. Tickets are now available for purchase.
Thirty two teams are battling their way through the online qualifiers hosted by CEVO, however, only eight will receive a coveted invitation to the $125,000 event.
As we edge closer to the launch of the Season 9 finals, we’re delighted to reveal the latest team to lock in their invitation, Tempo Storm!
History
Formed in 2014 by professional Hearthstone player and streamer, Andrey "Reynad" Yanyuk, Tempo Storm is a premier eSports organisation based in the United States.
Initially, Tempo established themselves as a professional Hearthstone team and a central hub for community members to research and share their latest strategies. However, since then, Tempo Storm has grown into a worldwide brand, fielding competitive teams across some of the largest eSports titles, including, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, FGC, FIFA and Counter-Strike.
In February 2016, Tempo Storm announced their official return to the Counter Strike: Global Offensive scene, following their acquisition of the Games Academy roster; Henrique "HEN1" Teles, Lucas "lucas1" Teles, Gustavo "SHOOWTiME", Gonçalves, João "felps" Vasconcellos, Ricardo "boltz" Prass and Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu.

Previously overlooked by their ‘superior’ regions, North America and Europe, Tempo, alongside fellow compatriots, Luminosity Gaming, have taken the competitive world by storm.
Following the recent resurgence of the South American Counter Strike: Global Offensive scene, Tempo Storm and Luminosity Gaming have successfully cemented themselves amongst the best teams in the world, having respectively climbed to fourteenth and second in HLTV’s CS:GO Team Rankings.
In their last eleven outings, Tempo Storm has only failed to place outside the top four on four occasions, picking up five gold medals along the way. However, unfortunately, the all-Brazilian lineup has struggled to make a significant impact at major events, notably finishing 9-12th at DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016.
Final Comments:
Tempo Storm are one of the most passionate and dedicated teams within the competitive CS:GO community and as a result they are striving towards validating their skill on an international scale.
Admittedly, the organisation and roster are still a somewhat foreign entity amongst Counter Strike fans, however, there is no doubt that Tempo Storm deserves to be recognised as serious competition and one of the most exciting prospects within the global scene.
As Tempo Storm continues to grow as a team and qualify for international events, their presence will soon be acknowledged, one way or another.
