History
Virtus.pro are a premier eSports organisation based in Russia, fielding competitive teams across Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, World of Tanks and StarCraft II.
As one of the oldest and most successful eSports organisations, Virtus.pro are renowned for their ties to the Counter Strike scene, with their roots dating back to 2004, in which they attended their first recorded event on CS.
A decade later, in 2014, Virtus.pro recruited the services of the iconic Golden Five, a group of close-knit Polish players who dominated the Counter Strike 1.6 scene, as they acquired the AGAiN roster; Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, Filip "Neo" Kubski, Jarosław "pasha" Jarząbkowski, Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski and Paweł "byali" Bieliński.
The rest is history.
Team Spotlight and Recent Performances
Virtus.pro: TaZ | NEO | pasha | Snax | byali
Under the new banner of Team Virtus.pro, the roster experienced immediate success, as they secured the Katowice 2014 Major Championship in March, and our very own Gfinity G3 crown in August.
However, since then, the Polish superstars have been plagued by inconsistent performances, and as a result Virtus.pro have only secured 7 first place medals over the duration of 40+ events in 2015.
Unfortunately, 2016 and the celebration of the rosters two year anniversary has seen no improvement, as Virtus.pro secured a 7-8th placement at DreamHack Leipzig 2016, 5 - 6th at Intel Extreme Masters X - World Championship, 3-4th at Counter Pit League Season 2 – Finals and 5 - 8th at the MLG Major Championship: Columbus.
Final Comments:
Despite their inconsistency, Virtus.pro are one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the world. A roster filled with an abundance of undeniable raw skill, VP possesses the ability to overcome any opposition. However, their unpredictability makes them a risky gamble at any event.
In addition to this, it’s also worth noting that Virtus.pro have the tendency to perform well at Gfinity events. In their last five events at the Gfinity Arena, the all-star Polish roster has placed within the top four, four times, securing a gold, silver and bronze medal along the way.
