Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy is still going, and while a recent glitch suggested that the Tower could be due a close call with the Almighty, there could be more destruction on the way.
Potential spoilers ahead, you've been warned.
With fans expecting another sizeable expansion in the coming months (following on from both Forsaken and Shadowkeep), rumours have begun swirling that one of the game's planets could be destroyed.
Pointing to a Polygon interview with Bungie's general manager Mark Noseworthy before Shadowkeep's release, Noseworthy said that the studio "can't really just grow the game infinitely, forever".

Bungie has also mentioned removing one of the game's Gambit mode variants in the future, and with the game now racking up a huge amount of hard drive space (and taking what seems like forever to load), there's some merit to the idea that Bungie could begin trimming the fat of Destiny 2.
Factor this in with the long-awaited arrival of The Darkness, the franchise's nebulous and hitherto unseen "big bad" and you've got plenty of opportunities to shake things up. Their pyramid-style ships can be seen in some of the game's skyboxes, and are featured in a datamined cutscene, too.
Destiny treads the line of being an MMO, and that genre has seen its fair share of destruction over the years. World of Warcraft's world was decimated by the Cataclysm expansion, while Final Fantasy 14's world was entirely destroyed and rebuilt as part of the A Realm Reborn relaunch.
In recent months, Nessus, Io and Titan have become increasingly redundant in Destiny 2 – so could they be removed? We'll soon find out.
