Techland has confirmed that open world zombie title Dying Light 2: Stay Human is being delayed once again, now launching on February 4th, 2022. Initially announced back in 2018, we've witnessed several delays ever since and last we'd heard before now, it was scheduled to arrive on December 7th, 2021.
Releasing a statement via Twitter, Techland confirmed:
The team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line. The game is complete and we are currently playtesting it. It is by far the biggest and most ambitious project we've ever done. Unfortunately, we've realized for us to bring the game up to the level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimize it.
Dying Light 2 Gets Delayed Again, Now Aiming For February 2022
Given the upcoming sequel's troubled development history, we're not entirely surprised to hear this. Despite getting a new gameplay trailer during Gamescom 2021, Dying Light 2 did previously lose two key writers, Chris Avellone - who was removed after sexual harassment accusations - and Pawel Selinger.
As it stands, Dying Light 2: Stay Human will now join an already crowded release field in Q1 2022. Joined by Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, Pokémon Arceus Legends, Saints Row, Gran Turismo 7 and more, we're in for a big start to next year.
