Update 1.11 for Black Ops Cold War ushered in a variety of changes and additions, including the launch of the Firebase Z Zombies map and the return of classic Black Ops 2 map Express.
Believed to be the final update for Season One before developer Treyarch turns its attention to the launch of Season Two, numerous bugs were fixed alongside the announcement of League Play arriving on February 8th.
As the top teams and players continue their practice ahead of the start of the 2021 Call of Duty League (CDL) season, some players believe that some unexpected changes have been made to the movement mechanics of Black Ops Cold War, much to their surprise.
Considering the best players on the planet play the game on a daily basis, it’s no surprise to see them pick up on even the slightest of changes that were not mentioned in the patch notes.

Former Los Angeles Guerrillas player Jacob “Decemate” Cato was one of the first players to notice a difference in movement.
Dallas Empire superstar Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal also noticed changes, saying that it feels like getting “stuck in the mud” when your feet return to the ground after performing a jump.
Pro players were quick to notice changes in movement
While post-jump movement may have slowed down, iLLeY added that the sliding mechanic “feels faster” suggesting that pros may switch to sliding around a corner as opposed to performing a double bunny-hop.
Not A Surprise
Throughout the history of competitive Call of Duty, the developers appear to have made a habit out of applying changes that have a significant effect on how the game plays, just weeks before a major tournament is about to take place.
It looks like Treyarch has continued with this tradition by making changes to the movement mechanics a week before the 2021 CDL season begins with the Atlanta Home Series.
It is unclear as to whether the developer will revert the changes, or as to why they were even made in the first place. Will they be reverted before the Atlanta Home Series begins or will the pros have to adapt? We will have to wait and see.
