Mesprit is one of the three Lake Guardians headed to Pokémon GO during the Season of Mischief. As Lugia leaves the raid rotation, new raid bosses will take their place in the form of the lake trio.
When Mesprit joins the new raid rotation, the other Lake Guardians will also be joining. Depending on the region that players are in though, one of three Lake Guardians will be available in five-star raids.
Mesprit will appear in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India. Meanwhile, Uxie will appear in the Asia-Pacific region and Azelf will appear in the Americas and Greenland. All three Legendary Pokémon will make their return on September 14 at 10:00 local time, and there is even a chance to catch a shiny. But first, they must be defeated, and for that you need to assemble the best Mesprit counters in Pokémon GO.
The Best Pokémon GO Counters For Mesprit Raids
Mesprit is a pure Psychic-type Pokémon just like the other Lake Guardians in the game. Players will only need to worry about one type when battling the Legendary which makes the raid easier. Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type Pokémon are the most effective.
- Giratina: Shadow Claw (Fast Attack) + Shadow Ball (Charge Attack)
- Tyranitar: Bite (Fast Attack) + Crunch (Charge Attack)
- (Mega) Gengar: Lick (Fast Attack) + Shadow Ball (Charge Attack)
- Hydreigon: Bite (Fast Attack) + Dark Pulse (Charge Attack)
- Darkrai: Snarl (Fast Attack) + Shadow Ball (Charge Attack)
- Chandelure: Hex (Fast Attack) + Shadow Ball (Charge Attack)
- Houndoom: Snarl (Fast Attack) + Foul Play (Charge Attack)
- Yveltal: Snarl (Fast Attack) + Dark Pulse (Charge Attack)
After Mesprit is defeated in the raid, players will be given Premier Balls for a bonus encounter. How many are rewarded will depend on performance and friends in the raid. Make sure to use efficient curveball throws and berries.
Best Mesprit Counters In Pokémon GO
Mesprit is very similar to the other Lake Guardians in terms of a moveset. They all have the same small moveset options, aside from one different charge attack for each one.
Fast Attack: Confusion
Confusion is one of two fast attacks, with the other being Extrasensory. They both have very similar energy per second gains, but Confusion hits significantly harder. The damage and efficiency makes it a useful fast attack on Mesprit
Charge Attack: Future Sight and Blizzard
On all three of the Lake Guardians, Future Sight is the priority charge attack. It's a STAB nuke attack that will be the most useful move for Mesprit. The only drawback is the charge up time for the move.
For a second charge attack, players can use the Blizzard move. It offers up a separate type of damage to use in raids or battles. Plus, it will charge up a bit faster than Future Sight.
With all of the information on Mesprit in mind, good luck in the raid, and enjoy the Psychic-type attacks!
