We recently managed to sit down with Triple Trouble after their first day in the RLCS World Championship. We also managed to catch up with Renaulty Vitality, who won their only game and and were voted as the 'Team of the Day'.
Renault Vitality is a French esports organization that holds a partnership with Renault Sport. The French organization joined the ranks of other athletic clubs that have hopped into competitive Rocket League like F.C. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Vitality is filled by Victor ‘Fairy Peak’ Locquet, Kyle ‘Scrub Killa’ Robertson, and Alexandre ‘Kaydop’ Courant. The team’s dynamic is built out of friendship, competitiveness, and a bit of flair. Scrub Killa is one of the youngest competitors in Rocket League at only 16. On the opposite side of the spectrum you have Fairy Peak and Kaydop who are both 21. Together, these three men have seemingly created a well-oiled machine.
Renault Vitality beat Ground Zero Gaming 3-1 in day 1
The team walked into the press room looking ready to play and excited. Scub Killa’s father was also in attendance, watching over him proudly. I asked the team who their biggest Rival is this weekend, and they collectively agreed that North America’s NRG and Cloud 9 are the biggest threat.
“We are looking forward to Triple Trouble because we play against them in our region. I think it will make a good match.”
Vitality finished day one of the Rocket League World Championship 1-0, with their only match being against Ground Zero Gaming.
I asked Scrub Killa how he was feeling being at the World Championship as a player; he seemed cool, cam, and collected in response.
“I have adapted well. I have streamed for thousands of viewers and played in other high-pressure tournaments, so I am relaxed.”
Renault Vitality has two of the best 1v1 players in all of Rocket League with Scrub Killa and Fairy Peak. When asked how their experience in 1v1s helps them in a competitive 3v3 environment, they both shared the same answer.
Scrub Killa began with stating: “1v1s help develop timing against defending, dribbling, and more.”
Renault Vitality has one of the best defenses in Rocket League, so we will see how they do this weekend. Good luck!
