No doubt Bethesda will have even more ideas planned, and we can't wait to see what they have in store. Without further ado, here's what you need to know about Fallout 76's Christmas event, and we'll be sure to keep updating the page as more info becomes available.

Bethesda has announced their Christmas Event plans for 2021. Here's what you need to know:

"The days are growing colder, Dwellers throughout Appalachia have begun adorning their homes with twinkling lights, and even the Scorched are prepping their most festive attire as we approach the holidays. Starting December 21, get into the spirit of the season by keeping an eye out for Santa-suited “Holiday Scorched,” and listening close for their jingling bells as you adventure around the Wasteland. Each one that you take down will drop a Holiday Gift, which you can open to get a few treats and a chance at rare loot, like new C.A.M.P. item plans. While you’re on the hunt for presents, keep in mind that Holiday Scorched spawn as legendary 1- to 3-star creatures, and they will only appear in exterior locations.

Additionally, don’t forget to visit your favorite vendor to pick up some wrapping paper in exchange for caps. You can bring your wrapping paper to a Tinker’s bench to craft Holiday Gifts of your own, and then open them to get even more loot. The Scorched plan to spread holiday cheer in Appalachia until January 4, so be sure to fill your stocking with goodies by then."

Fallout 76 players will perform A Christmas Carol in-game, raising money for charity. Featuring Bethesda's senior vice president Pete Hines as Jacob Marley, that's being organised by Fallout for Hope, airing on December 17th at 11pm BST.

There's still no official word on the Christmas events for Fallout 76, but the winter festival is clearly on the minds of Bethesda since the most recent Fallout 76 Atomic Shop has got some new holiday goodies for fans to buy. Here's what they've said:

"It’s time to dust off the Holiday Decorations and cozy up by the fireplace. This week check out the Christmas Sitting Room Bundle, complete with Aluminum Tree, Winter Brick Fireplace, Red and White String Lights, Log Table, and Reclining Sofa Chair."

Follow the link above to take a look at the full Atomic Shop offerings for this week, including these Christmas themed decorations. Just be sure to grab them before December 8 when the Atomic Shop next resets.

Release Date

Last year the Holiday festivities didn't get started proper until the beginning of the Holiday Scorched Event.

The event started on Thursday, December 12 and Bethesda made sure to keep the festive spirit going until Thursday, December 26. Al

With that in mind, we suspect we'll see this year's holiday-themed activities get started a little earlier, with everything kicking off on Thursday, December 9.

Holiday Scorched

We know Bethesda love to play dress-up with the Scorched. Earlier this year we saw Spooky Scorched dressed to the nines for Halloween and it's certain they'll return for Christmas.

We're expecting to see Holiday Scorched make an appearance once again, although they might not come bearing presents.

For those wondering how this event works, here it is:

Whenever you spot Scorched dressed in festive attire, or hear their joyous jingle bells, it’s time to go on the hunt. Each 'Holiday Scorched' you take down will drop a Holiday Gift for you to unwrap. Gifts can be low, medium, or high-quality, and may contain anything from a lump of coal, to rare plans and recipes. You’ll also get some wrapping paper so that you can craft a few Holiday Gifts of your own to share with your fellow Dwellers.

Will the event return exactly like before? We doubt it, Bethesda are bound to make a few tweaks, but we'll have to wait and find out closer to the event.

The return of Santatron?

Ho! Ho! Ho! Let's hope that Bethesda once again brings back Santatron. This was a limited time bot available from the Atomic Shop last year.

With a Santatron Station in your C.A.M.P. the bot would roam the nearby area collecting treats for you, like candy, toys, and coal. Best of all, during the Holiday Scorched event, Santatron would occasionally give you a Holiday Gift of random quality.

With any luck, Santatron will emerge once more to treat boys and girls the world over.
