Many fans thought that Amazon was just sweeping their Fallout series under the rug when they released the whole season in one day, but it’s turned out to be one of the most-watched shows on the platform, and a second season is well underway.

With the first season's string of guest appearances, it looks like the show has found its first big star—Kevin McCallister himself.

Macaulay Culkin in Fallout

According to Deadline, Macaulay Culkin has joined the cast of the second season of Fallout. No official details have been released about his character, but he’s said to be playing a ‘crazy genius-type character.’ His role will also be recurring, so he could appear in multiple episodes.

Though the series may have introduced some new characters, there is a chance that some faces from the games will also make their way into the series. When Culkin was first announced, players immediately started guessing who his character could be.

With the tease that the story will be set in New Vegas, some speculate that Culkin will play a character from that game—specifically Robert House.

Could Culkin be Mr. House?

In Fallout: New Vegas, Robert House is the ruler of New Vegas and the game's main antagonist. Although he mostly appears as a photo on a screen, Culkin could play him in a flashback; House already has a cameo in the first season.

Probably the most convincing theory a fan has had is that Culkin’s casting is a meta-choice. He’s best known for playing the lead of Home Alone, and from Home, you can pretty much get the word House—so he got cast as Edwin House.

If Culkin should appear as an original character, though, there are multiple places in the world of Fallout for Culkin to appear without breaking canon. With the series known for having ‘experimental’ vaults from time to time, it would be fun to have Culkin play a lone Vault-dweller who was left in a vault by himself, and he’s somehow laid all kinds of traps in the vault to get rid of any unlucky intruder.

What to Expect with Season 2

At the end of Season 1, Fallout saw the team-up of the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) and Lucy (Ella Purnell) in a quest to find the people responsible for the Nuclear war. On the other hand, Maximus (Aaron Moten) is implied to have risen up the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel, which should mean more responsibility for him—but he’s already shown doubts about the organization.

In addition to the main cast, Kyle MacLachlan, Leslie Uggams, Moises Arias, Frances Turner, and Sarita Choudhury are expected to return for the next season. I hope Culkin is just the first of many guest stars planned.

No release date has been set for the second season of Fallout, but some suspect a release sometime in 2026.
