Final Fantasy 14 is coming to PlayStation 5 later this year, but fans have been wondering if it'll ever arrive on Xbox.

Square Enix Has "No Obstacles For Developing The Xbox Version" Of Final Fantasy XIV
"There are no obstacles for developing the Xbox version. We were able to undertake development and provide our service thanks to the immense efforts that Phil [Spencer] has invested," Yoshida explains.
"The sole factors are the workload and the order of steps. Now when it comes to the Xbox version, there’s unfortunately not much I can say presently but just that we cannot work on all the steps simultaneously and need to follow the order for proceeding with these things."
"Since we’re currently involved in the development of Endwalker and preparing the PS5 version to follow on from the title’s service on PS4, it’d be appreciated if we can return to touch upon the Xbox version once things have settled!"
So, despite the path being clear to an Xbox release, it appears that could be some time away. The game is currently available on PS4, PC and Mac, with the PS5 version arriving in beta form on April 13th.
The MMO genre used to be solely the domain of the PC, but there are other options out there for console gamers.
Black Desert Online, Elder Scrolls Online, Neverwinter, and even Destiny 2 do their best to scratch that itch.
