Though it's a hack n' slash game at heart, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes uses a fairly robust strategy system to add much-needed depth to the traditional musou formula. Sometimes things can get lost in the heat of it all, though: like knowing how to find and save the commoner.
This issue isn't limited to just the commoner, either. There are multiple missions in the game where you're tasking wither either aiding a character or putting them down. But if you can't seem to spot them on the map, don't worry: you're not doing anything wrong.
Before we get into the good stuff, we need to shout out our Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes review. Even though you likely already have the game if you're reading this, it's still good to hear another person's opinion of the game as well.
How to Find and Save the Commoner in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes
If you find yourself tasked with saving the commoner in a Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes mission, you might just run into trouble. We did. There's one mission in particular where the commoner won't last more than a couple of minutes without your divine intervention.
But you won't be able to spot them on the map. If this sounds like you, you're not losing your mind: you're just a victim of the game's convoluted tutorials that go on for far too long and only push other information out of your brain as they pop up on the screen.
So rather than looking at the map for the commoner, it's time to actually look around the battlefield. If you can't see the commoner on the map, it's because you haven't found them yet.
To do this quickly, open up the tactical map using the + button and order your troops to spread out. Send each one to a different outpost or stronghold, letting them focus on one side of the map while you make a mad dash around the other.
Because of the extra legs on the field, you should manage to find the commoner in no time at all. And, once you do, they'll appear on the map for all to see. Not only is this great for keeping track of them, but it means you can easily issue commands for your troops to heal, defend, and escort them to where they need to go.
If you have other matters to attend to, keep some on the defensive and others attacking any strong soldiers around them. After all, if the commoner dies, it's game over.
Again, this method works for a few missions. Sometimes you'll need to beat up archers or mages before they do some serious damage, but they won't always show up on the map until you've scouted out the area they're in. It's just a matter of rushing around, spreading out, and finding them before they find their target.
