It seems like video game adaptations are amping up, after the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies and The Last of Us TV show, but Amazon Prime's Fallout TV show is every bit as goofy and gruesome as the games. At least, it looks like it from the new trailer.

Releasing a day ahead of the original Fallout TV series release date, Amazon has confirmed that the show will premiere on its subscription service on April 11, 2024. And better yet? All episodes are available on the date, meaning you won't have to wait for a new episode to release each week.

In the official trailer, which was released today, players can get a glimpse of the iconic Power Armor, a staple of the series, as well as a look at The Ghoul, a bounty hunter living in the post-nuclear war wilds. Set 200 years after the apocalypse, the series will follow Vault Dweller Lucy as she explores the violent and absurd remains of a destroyed world. There's even Matt Berry as Mister Handy, so that's a bonus too.

The TV show is produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the creators of Westworld, so it should deliver on the dystopian atmosphere that Fallout fans have come to know and love. But, while the show does seem to feature a good amount of dark humour and weird moments, there seems to be plenty of apocalyptic action for you to enjoy, such as witnessing the nuclear bombs as they first drop, or various people in Power Armor fighting off mutated creatures and humans alike.

But, if you're a Fallout fan, is it worth watching? Absolutely, as according to Bethesda's own Todd Howard, the Fallout TV series is canon to the games, giving you another reason to witness the chaos that Amazon aims to deliver with the show. We're excited to see the post-war world of Fallout in a new way, at least until we get Fallout 5 at some point. Hopefully.
