A progression system is a significant feature of any game.
It ensures a player feels a level of achievement whilst playing the title.
It's particularly important in competitive games like Call of Duty.
Players want to know where they rank in skill and dedication in comparison to the overall player base.
Creating a complete and satisfying progression system can be difficult.
However, that's exactly what Black Ops Cold War is aiming to provide.
New Progression System
@_TomHenderson_ has revealed Black Ops Cold War will be creating a new progression system.
This change was supposedly sparked by community feedback from the beta.
Check out the tweet below:
It was exactly the same as Modern Warfare, but given the communities feedback it appears they are creating a new system. https://t.co/bSPZaXl1DE

This has come as good news to the majority of Call of Duty fans.
There have been requests from the community for the prestige system to make its return for a while now.
Despite the requests, there is no guarantee the prestige system will be making its return in its original form.
It's more likely Black Ops Cold War will bring a hybrid system that incorporates seasonal ranking and prestige.
No matter what Treyarch opts to implement, its great to see them responding to community feedback.
We'll have to wait and see what progression system Black Ops Cold War will bring.
