While they may not have gotten the massive expansion announcement they wanted out of The Game Awards, Elden Ring players have still had new content to dig into, with the long-awaited Colosseum DLC providing a fresh challenge for those who now consider boss battles to be a walk in the park.
However, it seems some of them are already on their way to mastering the arena, having resorted to using a dance pad or spamming spirit summons to spice things up, or abandoned PVP in favour of attempting feats like trying to beat the game on two screens at once.
While not every player has had success with a playthrough as challenging as MissMikkaa’s latest masterpiece, many of them do have plenty of other in-game triumphs to toot their own horns about.
Which of these Elden Ring success stories is your favourite?
Such bluster forms the subject of a thread on the r/eldenring subreddit, which began with a post from user GodefroyTheGrafted, who kicked things off by sharing an image of one of the game’s bosses crying out in defiance and declaring: “I want to hear your brags!!! What is your greatest achievement that made you feel like this?”
Their fellow Tarnished were quick to put forth a gaggle of glories, with some going all the way back to their initial foray into The Lands Between, such as user ProfessionalEye2262, who shared the tale of them beating an Ulcerated Tree Spirit at level ten following over five hours of intense combat.
User HungrPhoenix also went with an old school boss battle from deep in their back catalogue, asserting: “I beat pre-nerf Radahn hitless.”, to which KindaNapoleon replied: “I miss pre-nerf Radahn. He was a challenge on my first playthrough at around (rune level) 60-70, but on a recent playthrough I two shotted him at around (rune level) 40-50.”
Meanwhile, some players dipped into their PVP exploits for fond memories, with user Snoo61755 recounting their greatest one-eyed shield kill of all time, which knocked an unaware invader off of a cliff in a “glorious blaze”.
Similarly, Phunkie_Junkie went for their first Colosseum win, revealing: “I've been playing this series since Demon's Souls and I have always been lousy at PVP. I don't think I'd ever beaten an invader until Elden Ring.”
Meanwhile, user sladebonge said: “Probably the time I didn't die that one time.”, leading TheHeroicLionheart to respond: “(That) sounds like something someone who died would say.”
