Now Armored Core 6 has arrived, those who’ve been eagerly awaiting the chance to dive into some action-packed mech battles have finally been getting the chance to do just that.
Unsurprisingly, given many such fans have been excited about the prospect of building a cool or bizarre bot and trying to decimate their opponents for a long time, it hasn’t taken long for some to start delivering some pretty emphatic beatdowns on even its toughest foes.
Meanwhile, one notable member of the FromSoft community has been more concerned with working out how the scale of Armored Core’s world compares to Elden Ring. Now, they’ve even managed to bring one of its mechs to The Lands Between.
Are you hoping you’ll be able to try running through Elden Ring’s bosses using one of Armored Core 6 mech at some point down the line?
Having already concluded, based on some in-game measurements, that AC6’s default starting mech is around the same size as Elden Ring boss Radahn, dataminer Zullie The Witch has since gone a step further.
Utilising the fact that the two games share the same engine and having enlisted the help of modder Dropoff, whom you might be familiar with as one of those who recently added GTA San Andreas’ CJ to Armored Core 6, they’ve successfully ported one of the game’s mechs into The Lands Between.
As you can see in the video above, this exercise was mainly done as an experiment designed to demonstrate just how similar the games are on a technical level, with Zullie reporting that “many of the assets do seem compatible.”
While the Armored Core is currently without all of the animations and effects that’d actually bring it to life, it’s still quite cool to just see it chilling there nonchalantly next to The Tarnished and being dwarfed by the Fire Giant.
At the end of the video, Zullie suggests that the similarities between the two games could mean that “there’s a lot of potential for exciting new mods, and we’re only just seeing the start of it.”
So, your dreams of blasting Malenia to pieces with your twin ‘soup’ launchers might not be as far fetched as you might think, though it’ll likely be a while before modders manage to give you that chance.
