Capcom’s Exoprimal has had an odd life thus far, being a competent multiplayer shooter that no one asked for, especially with many fans lusting after a new Dino Crisis. While it might not be the Capcom game fans wanted, it seems that appearing in Xbox Game Pass has given the shooter some life.
During Capcom’s second-quarter financial results (via PCGamesN), the company reported an increase in sales revenue and digital business. To that point, Exoprimal on Game Pass was brought up, showing that the service has helped players give this generally underappreciated shooter a chance.
Game Pass is the main reason to buy an Xbox Series, as it gives players a ton of games to try out every month. Xbox exclusives like Starfield are an obvious reason to get it, though trying a few third-party titles wouldn’t hurt either. Players thinking of the latter eventually gave Capcom’s multiplayer shooter a shot.
When Exoprimal came out, many viewed it as Capcom’s first dud in a while, especially when compared to the company’s other releases. Right now, Capcom is riding high thanks to the Resident Evil remakes getting a ton of love from fans and critics alike. Because of that, many were hoping for a Dino Crisis remake but got this multiplayer dinosaur shooter instead.
It seems that Game Pass fans are accepting Exoprimal for what it is, rather than what it isn’t. Granted, a Dino Crisis remake with the same amount of attention as the recent Resident Evil titles would be more than nice. Still, the shooter is solid for what it is and should give players a few hours of fun.
Although many gamers have given up on it, Capcom still has hope for their multiplayer dinosaur shooter. The shooter recently had a Street Fighter collaboration and now it’s going to team up with Monster Hunter soon.
