While some GTA players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to make the most of their remaining time in Los Santos.
One way to do just that is by installing some mods to spice up your story mode shenanigans via things like Baywatch-inspired missions, intense new heists or even Yakuza Zero-style disco dancing.
If you’re someone who’s already blazed through GTA Online’s Last Dose missions and now fancy a relaxing return to story mode, instead of grinding to add the latest limited-time cars to your collection, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Fancy having a go at living a peaceful, blue-collar life GTA 5?
The mod in question is simply called ‘GasStation’ and is the work of modder SkyZ, whose previous projects have brought the joys of buying a lottery ticket and having your gun’s recoil throw you halfway across a room to the game.
This time, they’ve decided to turn it into a surprisingly authentic and in-depth gas station employee simulation, giving you the chance to force Michael, Franklin or Trevor to abandon their lives of crime in favour of a regular nine-to-five.
As you can see in the showcase video above, the new job they’ll be taking on comes with a uniform and an array of responsibilities, including helping customers fill or wash their cars, looking after the shop of their station and even doing some delivery driving.
Refuelling looks to be done via a minigame that rewards your ability to accurately match the amount of petrol a customer has asked for, adding a degree of challenge to the work, while mopping floors and serving customers are seemingly a little easier.
Thankfully for those who still want to be able to go out and about during their shifts, delivery missions offer a chance to do just that, though you’ll be up against the clock and in a bulky truck, so don’t think you can slack off for long.
Don’t think this is the only excitement you might be in for during the course of a day either, with one of the mod’s most surreal mechanics being robbery events, which will see a bit of a role reversal from the vanilla game, with you being the helpless, unarmed cashier forced to try and deal with an armed attacker without getting killed.
While this is the extent of the job’s description at the moment, SkyZ seemingly plans on adding more duties, such as charging electric cars or making hot dogs for customers, in future updates.
If you want to submit your CV and begin this new career path, you’ll first need to grab Crosire’s ‘ScriptHookVDotNet v3.6.0’, Open IV and Justalemon’s ‘LemonUI: Open Source UI Library’ beforehand, then follow SkyZ’s instructional video.
Regardless of whether you’ve now happily traded in your handgun and ski mask for a petrol pump and cash register, make sure to follow us for more GTA 6 and GTA Online updates as new vehicles and more arrive.
