While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by spending all of their hard-earned cash or grinding out a few more heists.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online, even if you aren’t exactly excited about its current in-game events?
It seems that some players are doing so by taking a bit of a trip down memory lane and pouring one out to the citizens of San Andreas, with the most memorable quotes heard from NPCs around Los Santos and Blaine County during their travels becoming a topic of discussion.
What’s the most memorable thing you’ve heard from a GTA NPC?
These quips and outbursts are the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user Arctic317, who kickers things off by asking: “What’s the best thing (you’ve) heard an NPC say while on the streets of LS?”
Their fellow criminals were quick to divulge the fruits of their years of eavesdropping, with a number of NPCs from all walks of life having their intimate dirty laundry aired throughout the thread, which, to be fair, may be their own fault for discussing it loudly in public.
Thankfully, not all of the quotes sounded like they belonged on an outrageous reality TV show, with some arguably more wholesome options emerging from users like lurizan4life, who shouted out some NPCs for greeting the player as “my dude”. These fellows seem to brighten up the days of a lot of players, with tribalbaboon declaring: “Canonically, I am his dude.” and Nisms revealing: “This one’s my favourite, I reply hell yeah sometimes.”
Others praised certain NPCs for their honesty or relatability, with user RoryWorz88 shouting out some homeless people for politely asking the player: “Do you have any spare change? It's for crack.” and LogeyBear48 declaring their love for NPCs who randomly start having an existential crisis mid-firefight.
Meanwhile, user JP-Wrath shared some advice for those looking to take in some more classic lines during their next GTA Online session, saying: “Some of the one liners are funny, but the meat is in the mobile phone chats. Keep following NPCs from a distance and you'll hear.”
