While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by nailing sick stunts and spending all of their hard-earned cash.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?
However, there seems to be a bit of a rift in how players want to enjoy their GTA over the forthcoming festive period, with some being open to adding Christmas songs to the game’s radio stations and others not being so full of cheer.
Do you think Los Santos’ DJs need to embrace the spirit of Crimbo this year?
This clash is the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user SnooTangerines4810, who kicked things off by declaring: “We need Christmas music in game, like for real.”
Some of their fellow players seemed open to blasting some Wham or Bing Crosby, with one declaring: “They could add a seasonal radio [station] for Christmas and Halloween next year, it would be a cool detail.” and Rolypolyoly1877 suggesting: “Get the Christmas-themed horns when they release, and coordinate with your friends. Then you can have on-demand Christmas carolling!”
However, many weren’t such big fans of the idea, with user Haywire_Shadow saying: “God no, please no. I already can’t stand three months of ‘all I want for Christmas’ in real life, I don’t need it in my games as well,” and optimistlax17 adding: “Bruh, it’s November, enjoy Thanksgiving and chill out for a little bit. How can people enjoy the holiday when it keeps taking up more and more of the calendar every year?”
The frequency of these kinds of replies led some players to decry the lack of Christmas spirit within the GTA community, with marmogawd declaring: “This comment section is depressing.”
Meanwhile, one user jokingly suggested a compromise of sorts, proposing adding a single Christmas song to the game and only having it play on Christmas Day, saying: “Imagine [if] on Christmas [day] they have all [the] stations playing ‘All I want for Christmas is you’, 24/7. So it's either no radio, or hell.”
