While some GTA players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?
Currently, some are trying to do just that by digging into the Los Santos Drug Wars DLC, which contains some interesting new characters and vehicles, but are having their efforts hampered by their discontent over San Andreas’s wintery weather.
Are you getting a little tired of having to defrost your Entity or Thrax’s windscreen before heading to missions?
Their frustrations form the subject of a number of recent threads on the GTA Online subreddit, one of which began with a post from user silexmt, who shared a comparative image suggesting that the thin layer of sleet currently coating LS doesn’t look quite as nice as North Yankton’s chunky snow drifts.
A few of their fellow criminals agreed and suggested that inhabiting a frigid version of California is impacting their immersion, with charliemangual saying: “I think it’d be cool if during snow week(s) in GTA Online, the residents of Los Santos and Blaine County would wear winter clothes. Seeing people at a snow-covered beach in their bathing suits is kinda silly.”
In a couple of other threads, such as one kicked off by user ThatIdoitOnReddit, players shared some of the more practical effects the snowy conditions have been having on their attempts to complete missions.
“I crashed the hydra into the sea during the Humane Labs EMP setup because I could not see where the heck I was heading. Thankfully the team understood because nobody tried to fly on any jets.” revealed user Sunvaarhah, while Embarrassed_Dig_600 added: “I crashed my Sea Sparrow while flying back to the Kosatka from a Cayo Heist preparation, couldn’t (see anything). Was lucky (I) was very close and was able to swim to it. Can’t wait for (the) snow to go away.”
Even in threads started by players who are fans of the wintery weather, such as that of user xerrabyte, who said: “I wish more people liked the snow, it's only here for 2 out of the 52 weeks this year.”, there was a lot of critical sentiment towards the freezing conditions.
For example, Inycyon mused: “10 years we've had the snow, and honestly I love the aesthetic, but you're telling me, despite a 10-year consistent seasonal snowfall, (the) LS city council has NEVER thought to grit the roads?!”
Regardless of whether your GTA character is weary of blowing their fortune on hiring people to clear their drive so they don’t wreck their ride every morning, make sure to follow us for more GTA 6 and GTA Online updates as new vehicles and more arrive.
