As we wait for the Xbox Business Update Event, various leaks have seemingly confirmed that Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment will be the first multi-platform Xbox games. Those two games might not be the last, as more titles are reportedly coming to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms later this year.
The Verge reports that H-Fi Rush and Pentiment will be coming to PlayStation and Switch soon, with leaks of the former seemingly confirming this. Xbox also has plans to bring Rare’s Sea of Thieves to other platforms as well since the multiplayer pirate game has been a big hit for them recently.
Rumours also claim that we could see Starfield and Indiana Jones coming to PlayStation, though these reports aren’t as consistent. Starfield has been debunked by some insiders, but that could change, depending on the success of Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment.
With many of us expecting Xbox to announce more multi-platform releases, it will be interesting to see how the Xbox fan base reacts. After all, the company is already struggling to have good exclusives, and porting them to Switch and PS5 might make consumers lose faith. Microsoft will probably keep making Xbox consoles, but it seems the company has accepted being in third place, even after purchasing Activision Blizzard.
Both Xbox and PlayStation have been willing to share more of their exclusives lately, even though the latter is only for PC. Xbox has released Cuphead, Psychonauts 2, and the Ori games to other platforms. Meanwhile, PlayStation has seen great success porting their games to PC, with Spider-Man and the recent Helldivers 2 doing well.

Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment reviewed fairly well on release, adding plenty of personality to the Xbox lineup. Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush was able to combine rhythm games with spectacle fighters in a way no one could see coming, quickly becoming one of last year’s best games. Pentiment is a smaller project in comparison but seeing Obsidian do something like this after The Outer Worlds was nice.
