With the current state of Modern Warfare 2 causing plenty of debate among players jumping into multiplayer, attention is already turning to 2023’s release. Although there are several months before its usual release window, many are wondering what the future holds for the franchise.
Following the Season 3 update, fans are dropping to Gunfight once again while getting to grips with the FJX Imperium sniper rifle. More often than not, the developers are no strangers to adding small teasers referencing where Call of Duty is heading next
While exploring one of the new battlegrounds for the 2v2 mode, one player has uncovered a potential clue surrounding the next release.
The CoD 2023 reveal date in Modern Warfare 2?
Discovered by Reddit user wrongenemy7, a calendar with Tuesday the 15th circled and with a smiley face has appeared within the confines of the Alley Gunfight map.
“I’m guessing it’s a hint at the announcement date for the next CoD instalment,” suggests the player. After some digging, wrongenemy could be onto something. “Both Cold War and Vanguard were announced on August 26 and 19th.”
With that logic, there’s every chance an August reveal date for CoD 2023 is likely. “The only 15th that lands on a Tuesday this year is August 15th,” reveals one user that also believes the calendar could point to a future reveal.
