- Lag and stuttering is ruining Modern Warfare 3
- The issue first arrived in Season 3 Reloaded
- Players hope Sledgehammer Games will fix it soon
Modern Warfare 3 fans are desperate for Sledgehammer Games to fix connectivity issues impacting matches.
Following the launch of Season 3 Reloaded, Call of Duty players have reported an uptick of lag and stuttering in casual and competitive matches much to their annoyance. Despite the developers often fixing other bugs and glitches, lag spikes and stutters continue to occur on a regular basis as attention turns towards Season 4.
As players continue stuttering their way around the map, fans are questioning if there are plans to fix Modern Warfare 3's connectivity issues once and for all.
With more players encountering the problems, Reddit user fritosinpeanutbutter is beginning to wonder if the developers are actually planning a fix.
"Ever since Season 3 Reloaded, everyone has noticed the issues with lag and stuttering," the player says. "Are they waiting for something to happen before they fix it?" The user isn't the only one to notice the connectivity problems. Another adds: "No idea. I have 400mb/s internet and lags and freezes and glitches. So bad for a multi-billion dollar franchise."
The exact cause of the constant lag and stuttering remains a mystery making it difficult for Sledgehammer Games to identify the cause of the problem. Without any clear cause of the issues, it's tricky for the developer to apply a fix to ensure smooth gameplay across the board.
There are few things more frustrating than experiencing lag in Call of Duty. Whether it's in a Team Deathmatch or a hard-fought ranked play battle, the last thing anyone wants is stuttering creating an uneven playing field.
With Season 4 moving into view, there's a strong possibility Sledgehammer Games will apply a wealth of fixes that will reduce the chance of connection negatively impacting the fast-paced action. For now, the issues will continue but they will eventually subside resulting in smoothness before the next spike inevitably hits.
