Sega’s unannounced Yakuza mobile game may have been leaked too early through a Facebook page. As reported by User @Knoebelbroet on X, a Chinese Facebook page for Yakuza Wars is up and active. RGG Studio, the developer of games like Yakuza: Like A Dragon and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, has reportedly announced that they are planning to reveal a new Yakuza game at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show this month.
The description for Yakuza Wars’ Facebook page indicates that the new game will be on mobile and feature gameplay similar to strategy games. Yakuza characters such as Kiryu Kazuma, Majima Goro, and Kasuga Ichiban are likely to appear in the game, although whether these characters will be playable is yet to be confirmed. Sega’s trademark is present on the page cover, as is the publisher BBGame.

Fans of the Yakuza franchise have taken this to Reddit, and a fan posted an ad of the game they saw on Instagram. Many players doubted the game's legitimacy, with some mentioning that it could just be an AI-made ad for a knockoff. Some players quickly confirmed that Sega has recently trademarked Yakuza Wars and the ad could be part of the game’s marketing campaign.
According to the game’s Instagram ad, the game is now preparing for CBT or closed beta test, which means that the game is more likely to be ready and will just need some changes and updates based on the upcoming beta test. While the page and the ad look legitimate, according to some keen-eyed Yakuza fans, some are thrown off by how the ad seemingly used AI-generated images of the Yakuza characters. Fans will have to wait until RGG and Sega officially announce the details about Yakuza Wars this upcoming Tokyo Game Show.
