Despite a large section of the community having held a funeral for Red Dead Redemption 2’s online element, it seems that the game’s single-player experience is still going strong thanks to modders.
With massive mods like a huge overhaul of the game’s economy still being pumped out, these valiant modders are clearly still fighting to make Rockstar’s wild west adventure relevant.
They’re also still pretty enthused about fighting in the game too, as a new mod’s pugilistic presence has proven.

The mod in question is called ‘Brawling Style Switcher’ and is the work of modder 14-N001st, who’s chosen to focus what looks to be their first ever mod on helping you to beat the tar out of as many pardners as possible.
With the mod installed, you can do this by switching between five different hand-to-hand combat styles using your keyboard’s numpad or function keys, changing your fighting stance at your discretion to suit whatever difficult situation you’ve put yourself in by cheating at poker or calling some poor NPC an idiot.
So, what are the five styles on offer?
Well, the first is quite obvious, with it just being Arthur’s default stance, though option two offers an interesting twist on it, allowing you to fight as though you’re having to wade through snow regardless of whether you’re on the outskirts of Colter or in the middle of the New Austin desert.
Third on the list is a style labelled ‘bruiser’, suggesting that it might be designed for the bigger characters you have to fight at certain points in the game, such as Tommy, who defends the honour of Valentine’s saloon during the mission ‘Americans at Rest’.
The final two styles will allow you to reenact the game’s climax, with both Micah and Arthur’s stances from their bout at Beaver Hollow being options, just in case you want to get a bit of practice in before the big dance as Arthur or do some research on Micah’s tendencies like a professional fighter.

Also, keep an eye out for future updates to the mod, as a version that’ll allow you to choose which keys the styles are bound to might be in the works.
