The thought of a Red Dead Redemption remaster is an exciting prospect for fans of Rockstar Games’ Wild West epic action-adventure title. 13 years since its release, the rumour mill surrounding a potential remaster for current-gen consoles continues to turn.
John Marston doing everything he can to protect his family, combined with an immersive multiplayer that even included zombies, remains one of the most popular games the developer has ever released.
The latest rumour surrounding an alleged remaster claims the return of Red Dead Redemption is closer than ever before.
Is a Red Dead Redemption remaster real?
According to a Take-Two Interactive earnings call document, the publisher reportedly plans to release two remastered games in 2024, with one of them allegedly being a remaster of Red Dead Redemption.
In addition to the document, Colin Moriarty of the Sacred Symbols PlayStation Podcast has allegedly seen evidence that supposedly proves a Red Dead Redemption remaster is in the works. Moriarty says: “I have seen confirmation that this is real. I had someone reach out to me behind the scenes that showed me something that definitively shows this game is coming.”
The alleged claim follows a Gematsu report revealing the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea gave Red Dead Redemption a new rating on June 15, 2023. The reasons behind the new rating remain a mystery, but it has sparked numerous rumours surrounding a remaster.
Alongside the alleged remaster of Red Dead Redemption, information on the second remastered game from the Take-Two earnings call remains a mystery. For now, fans are hoping the rumours have some substance to them.
As always, it’s important to take leaks and rumours with a pinch of salt until Rockstar Games chooses to share more information on the projects its working on.
