During The Game Awards 2021 ceremony, Iron Galaxy confirmed they're working on a battle royale called Rumbleverse. Unlike other battle royale games, Rumbleverse puts players into a free-for-all pro wrestling match, running until one person's left.
Iron Galaxy co-CEO, Adam Boyes, explained the premise in a Polygon interview. ‘What would happen in a world where a wrestling match could break out anywhere on planet Earth?’” said Boyes. This premise applies a new twist to the battle royale formula, where players have to engage each other with wrestling moves.
Rumbleverse: Wrestling Battle Royale Arrives Next Year on PlayStation, Xbox
In this game, characters, aptly named Rasslers, will have to loot items, fight off foes, and survive as the last player standing in a map with a shrinking playable area. Rumbleverse players must use pro wrestling attacks and grapples to knock others out cold, or off the map. This game's maps are being built vertically to encourage players to drop their foes from grander heights.
Epic Games are publishing this game, aiming to launch across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Crossplay and Crossplatform are also planned, and it'll be playable on February 8, 2022 via early access.
