Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by overhauling iconic quests, revamping menus, and adding interesting player homes to it, with a few even going as far as making every door a mysterious portal to a random location or re-creating areas from previous Elder Scrolls games.
For those who love mods that can freshen up taking to the shadows as a stealthy character or serving as a defender of the innocent, but aren’t too concerned about immersion, a new superhero-themed mod might be worth taking a look at.
Fancy clobbering some bandits as Gotham’s caped crusader?
The mod in question is simply called ‘Batman', and is the work of modder TenebrisEquitem.
They’ve decided to get in touch with Warner Bros. games in order to get explicit permission to port some of Batman’s iconic costumes from the Arkham series in Skyrim, allowing the Dragonborn to adopt the guise of Gotham’s vigilante.
The mod includes two main super suits, with Batman: Arkham Origins’ Dark Knight of the Round Table armour offering a more heavy-duty option and the Batman v Superman Batsuit from Arkham Knight serving as a lighter alternative for those who aren’t as concerned about protection.
In addition to these sets, both of which can be crafted at a blacksmith's forge and are split into separate pieces you can pair with other armours, TenebrisEquitem has also a range of different cowls that will either fit over your character’s face or make them adopt some of Ben Affleck’s facial features.
You also get a choice over how the capes attached to your new suits will look and behave, with one version of the mod using ‘FSMP - Faster HDT-SMP’ to change how physics are applied to them and another keeping things vanilla.
If it’s the former version you want, you’ll first have to grab the Skyrim Script Extender, as well as ‘XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended - XPMSSE’ and DaydreamingDay’s ‘FSMPV - HDT-SMP XML Schema’.
Regardless of whether your Dragonborn is now practising their best deep growl in order to intimidate the denizens of Tamriel’s criminal underbelly, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting world of Skyrim modding.
