Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by adding interesting custom followers, cosy player homes, and multiplayer functionality to it, with a few even going as far as replacing Meridia’s beacon with some bacon or making Nazeem look beautiful.
If you’re a Dragonborn who also enjoys a bit of Elden Ring on the side and fancy making a fashion statement inspired by the residents of the Lands Between, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Fancy replicating your Tarnished’s look before you battle Skyrim’s toughest bosses?
The mod in question is called ‘Elden Helms - Lost Souls Edition’, and is the work of modder TalesOfStar. Some of their previous projects have brought the armour of Atomic Heart’s twins and some of Elden Ring’s weapons to Skyrim.
This time, they’ve added some of the latter game’s most iconic headgear to the game, giving your Dragonborn the chance to channel the spirit of a thousand boss battle attempts and adopt a goofy look that should lull powerful enemies into a false sense of security.
First up is the jar helm made famous by the fearsome Let Me Solo Her, which can be found inside Fargengar’s quarters of Whiterun’s Dragonsreach and even comes slightly pre-scratched, ensuring that you won’t be ruining a pristine pot next time you get smacked in the head by a bandit’s warhammer.
For those who prefer a helm that’s slightly wider and encourages foes to eat their vegetables, there’s the helm of the game’s mad pumpkin head, which can be found sitting by a table in Jorrvaskr.
Finally, if you prefer an animal-inspired aesthetic, the mod hides an Imp Head (Cat) inside Whiterun’s Hall of Dead, meaning you might have to deal with a few skeletons to get it, rather than the imps of the Lands Between.
For those put off by the fact their character will likely have trouble seeing where they’re going while wearing one of these headpieces, it might be worth checking out another new mod, Xavbio’s ‘Glass Armors and Weapons Retexture SE’, which beautifully retextures all of the malachite-based gear from vanilla Skyrim, instead.
Regardless of whether your Dragonborn is now rocking up to a dragon’s lair with a piece of porcelain perched on their bonce, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting world of Skyrim modding. You can also check out our mods of the month for February 2023.
