Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by overhauling iconic quests, revamping menus, and adding interesting new collectables to it, with a few even going as far as re-creating areas from previous Elder Scrolls games or giving players the ability to run around Tamriel as Batman.
For those who still can’t resist taking every opportunity to get into a fight with the province’s infamously fearsome giants, a new mod, which adds some new moves to their combat arsenals, might be worth adding to your load order.
Fancy risking a trip to space during your next Skyrim session?
The mod in question is called ‘New Creature Animation - Giant’, and is the work of modder stuxjr. Some of their previous work has revamped how the Dragonborn DLC’s Lurkers fight and given you some new power attack animations to play with.
This time, they’ve decided to switch up how everyone’s favourite mammoth herders do battle, adding a bunch of new animations to their repertoires which should ensure they won’t spend all of their time simply trying to slap you into orbit.
The mod comes in two different variations, with the first, shown off in the clip below, featuring a lot of fast movements that emphasise the effort each giant has clearly put into their cardio workouts, plus a drop-kick that’s worthy of any martial arts movie.
If you’re not quite in the mood to have one of those massive toes thrust towards your character’s face at great speed, there’s also an alternative version of the mod, demonstrated in the clip below via a fight with an ogre, which slows things down a little bit and omits the drop kick.
If either of these variants looks like it's up your alley, you’ll first want to grab Felisky384’s ‘Dynamic Animation Replacer’ and alexsylex’s ‘Animation Motion Revolution’ plus all of their requirements, in order to get things working as they should.
Regardless of whether you’re now patiently waiting for gravity to return you to Nirn after failing to dodge a blow quickly enough, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting world of Skyrim modding.
