Modders have put a lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the eleven years since it was first released into the world.
A lot of these efforts have focused on making the game more immersive, making additions ranging from dynamically-learning NPCs to destination weddings, as well as re-designing the locations used by some quests, and even giving its animals swimming lessons.
Now, one modder known for having given some of the game’s various signs their own unique artistic overhauls has returned to do the same for those hanging outside some of your favourite shops.
“Are you going to buy anything?” “Oh yeah, just give me a sec, I’m busy appreciating this sign.”
The mod in question is called ‘WiZkiD Specific Signs’, and is the work of modder wizkid34. Their previous work outside of the realm of signs has made Windhelm look colder than ever before, and added real water to all of Skyrim’s wells.
This time, they’ve decided to build on their incredibly popular 2019 mod ‘WiZkiD Signs’ by adding unique signs to a number of locations that mod didn’t quite manage to touch.
Most of these locations are shops that any Skyrim veteran will have visited thousands of times over the years, including Arcadia’s Cauldron in Whiterun, Windhelm’s The White Phial, and Falkreath’s Grave Concoctions.
So, now you can expect a fresh visual greeting whenever you next stop by one of these alchemical emporiums to pick up some supplies, with the same being the case if you visit some of the game’s more general stores, such as Sadri’s Used Wares.
You also shouldn’t have to worry about any conflicts when inserting this new mod into your load order, with wizkid34 having used modder powerofthree’s ‘Base Object Swapper’ to ensure their changes shouldn’t impact any other “cells or objects in the Skyrim worldspace” outside of the signs being overhauled.
