Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by adding massive dungeons, cosy player homes and handy new features to it, with a few even going as far as replacing Meridia’s beacon with some bacon or making Nazeem look beautiful.
If you’re a player who loves using Skyrim Together Reborn’s multiplayer capabilities to explore Tamriel with a friend or two, but have been struggling to get it to run as intended, a new update might be the answer to your woes.
Sick of having your Skyrim Together sessions interrupted by constant crashes or bugs?
Released via Skyrim Together’s Nexus Mods page late on Sunday evening, this latest version, dubbed 1.4.1, contains an array of changes designed to decrease the number of issues the highly complex mod is causing for players.
“Both our internal playtest and tests from users who built 1.4.1 early reported that they didn't (have a single) crash in (over five) hours of play!” said modder Cosideci in an announcement on the mod’s Discord server and Reddit page, continuing: “This of course doesn't guarantee that you won't (encounter any) crashes at all, but the experience should be a lot smoother.”
They went on to add: “For those who found the mod to be unplayable due to the amount of crashes it had for them, this update might fix that for you.”
In addition to the changes designed to combat crashes, the update also aims to rectify some bizarre bugs affecting the mod, some of which have seen temple shrine effects and item consumptions randomly be activated twice, with the latter leading players to burn through supplies like potions and arrows much faster than they’d intended.
Also on the list of fixes is a strange issue that led raindrops to become stuck on players’ screens, which seems like it could be quite a barrier to immersion unless you’re roleplaying as a water-dwelling Argonian.
