Spider-Man 2 was a huge hit this year, even if it didn’t win anything during The Game Awards, and fans have been eagerly waiting for DLC. Unfortunately, we now know that DLC is coming to the PlayStation 5 exclusive, but only because of a massive leak that revealed Insomniac’s plans.
According to a post on ResetEra, the superhero game will have three free DLC packs coming, and they all look promising. Out of all the three DLC packs, two of them will add new bosses and open-world missions. The last one is a vague crossover to Spider-Verse, which should make a ton of fans happy.
Now to spoil the DLC for those who are curious about what’s coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In addition to the Spider-Verse crossover, the other two DLC packs will revolve around Beetle and Carnage. Many fans had assumed that Carnage would be saved for a sequel or the Venom game, so this is surprising.
Three DLC packs do sound about right since that’s also the same amount that the first Marvel’s Spider-Man game had. It’s not yet known if these three DLC packs will represent one ongoing storyline like the first game’s, but we’re happy more content is coming.
More content for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is always good, though it’s a shame that this all had to be revealed via a leak. It was also confirmed that an online mode is coming to the game, which has a ton of fans interested since an online Spider-Man game sounds odd, to say the least.
It’s a shame that all of this happened to Insomniac Games, as the company has produced some great titles. We already mentioned Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is currently the company’s highest-rated game, so that’s great for them. They also made Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, which managed to be great on PS5 and PC, to the shock of many.
